The terms for using eventCNX
Effective October 28, 2026
These terms are an agreement between your organization and sthreelabs LLC, an Ohio limited liability company that makes eventCNX (“eventCNX”, “we”, “us”). They cover the eventCNX website, the organization admin, and the volunteer and guest pages. By signing up or using eventCNX for your organization, you agree to them on your organization’s behalf, and you confirm you’re allowed to do that.
1. What eventCNX does
eventCNX is software that helps organizations take payments at fundraising events. Volunteers pick what’s being sold on their phone, the guest pays on their own phone through Stripe Checkout, and eventCNX counts the sale.
Payments are processed by Stripe and go straight into your organization’s own Stripe account. eventCNX is not a bank, payment processor or money transmitter, and it never holds your funds. To take payments you must connect a Stripe account and accept Stripe’s terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe decides whether to process a payment, when payouts happen, and what it charges you.
2. Who can use it
- Organizations that raise money for a nonprofit, a school or a school group, or for a political campaign, party or committee, in the United States.
- eventCNX isn’t available to organizations in California.
- The person who signs up must be at least 18 and authorized to act for the organization.
3. Your account
Admins sign in with a link sent to their email, so keep those inboxes secure. Volunteers sign in with the event’s PIN. You decide who gets the PIN and you can change it at any time. You’re responsible for what happens under your organization’s account, including sales taken by anyone using your PIN. Tell us through the contact form if you think your account has been misused.
4. Your responsibilities
Your organization runs its events and is the seller of everything sold through eventCNX. That means you are responsible for:
- Following the laws that apply to your events, including any raffle, 50/50, charitable gaming or permit rules where you hold them.
- Setting accurate products and prices, and delivering what guests pay for.
- Guest refunds, disputes and chargebacks, which you handle in your Stripe account.
- Donation receipts and tax reporting for your organization.
- If you raise money for a political campaign, party or committee: contribution limits, who may give, and recording and reporting your contributors. eventCNX doesn’t collect contributors’ names, addresses, employers or occupations, so collect what the law requires yourself.
- Having the right to use any logo or sponsor content you upload.
eventCNX doesn’t run, sponsor or judge any raffle or drawing. The drawing and its rules are yours.
5. Prices and payment
- Event Pass, $149: one event, up to 3 days of selling counted from the event’s first opening to guests.
- Season Pass, $399: every event for 12 months from purchase.
- Sponsor spot, $39 per event: optional. You sell the spot to your sponsor and keep what they pay.
Setting up an event and running a practice night are free. You buy a pass when you open an event to guests. Passes are paid by card to sthreelabs LLC through Stripe, separately from your event money. eventCNX takes no percentage of your sales. Stripe’s card fees on your sales are charged by Stripe to your account.
All purchases are final. Passes and sponsor spots are not refundable. We may change prices for future purchases; a pass you’ve already bought keeps its terms.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use eventCNX to sell anything illegal or anything Stripe prohibits, to mislead guests, or to collect payments for anyone other than your organization. Don’t try to break, overload or get around the security of eventCNX, or access another organization’s data.
7. Your data
Your organization’s event, product and sales records belong to your organization. You can export your sales as a CSV at any time. You give us permission to store and display that data, your logo and your sponsor content only to run eventCNX for you. How we handle personal information is in our privacy policy.
When you ask for help, eventCNX support may open your organization’s admin to look into it. Each visit is time-limited, recorded and shown to your admins.
8. Availability
We work to keep eventCNX running on your event night, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Networks, phones, Stripe and other services can fail. Have a backup way to take payments, such as cash or Stripe’s own Tap to Pay.
9. Disclaimers
eventCNX is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, sthreelabs LLC won’t be liable for lost sales, lost donations, lost profits or data, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim about eventCNX is limited to the amount your organization paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnity
Your organization will defend and hold sthreelabs LLC harmless against claims that come from your events, your products, your raffles or drawings, the content you upload, or your breaking these terms or the law.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using eventCNX at any time. Ask us through the contact form to close your organization’s account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts guests, other organizations or eventCNX at risk. Sections 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 14 continue after an account closes.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with its effective date, and for significant changes we’ll email your organization’s admins first. Using eventCNX after a change takes effect means you accept it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and both sides agree to their jurisdiction.
