Compare

How eventCNX compares, for the night of the event.

Most tools PTOs and boosters use were built for something else first: a shop counter, an online form, a donation page. They can take a payment at a fundraiser. eventCNX was built for the night itself, from the first raffle ticket to the treasurer’s report.

The night, step by step

What the night needs, and how eventCNX handles it.

A guest with only a card

Any volunteer shows a QR code on their own phone. The guest pays with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card on Stripe’s checkout page.

Ten volunteers taking payments

They sign in with the event PIN and their first name. No accounts to create, nothing to clean up after, and no one can see payouts or issue refunds.

A guest paying cash

The volunteer taps Paid in cash. It counts in the same totals and pots, and the admin sees how much cash each volunteer should hand in.

Two cookies and a brownie

One order, one QR code, and the paid screen lists what to hand over.

The 50/50 and sideboard drawings

Pots total as tickets sell. Close one right before the drawing and late payments stay out of it.

Knowing how it’s going

Admins see collected, refunded and net by product, by volunteer and by pot as the night goes. Each volunteer sees only their own sales.

The treasurer, next morning

Every sale went straight into your Stripe account. The report matches the deposit, and the CSV has every sale with its Stripe payment ID.

A rehearsal

Run a practice night with pretend payments before you pay anything.

What you might use now

Good tools, built for something else first.

Cash box

No fees, and no record. Someone counts it at midnight, and it rarely matches the ticket stubs.

Venmo

Quick for the guest. The money goes to whoever owns the QR code, and the treasurer sorts it out next week.

Square

Built for shops and stalls. A good choice if you already have readers and a team set up in it.

Cheddar Up

Built for collecting online for groups: forms, dues, sign-ups. A good choice for what you collect before the event.

Givebutter

Built for donation pages and campaigns. A good choice for the appeal that runs alongside the event.

eventCNX isn’t trying to replace your dues form or your donation page. It runs the tables on the night.

What it costs

A flat price for the event. Nothing taken from what you raise.

eventCNX

An Event Pass is $149 for one event, up to 3 days of selling. A Season Pass is $399 for every event for 12 months, with the sponsor spot included. Setting up and running a practice night are free.

Per sale

eventCNX takes nothing. Stripe’s standard card fee is charged on your own account, as with any Stripe payment.

Honestly

When another tool is the better fit.

You only collect before the event

Dues, sign-ups and permission slips are what Cheddar Up is built for.

It’s a donation campaign, not a night of sales

A donation page like Givebutter’s fits better.

You already run on Square

If your volunteers already have Square logins and readers, stay with what they know.

It’s one small table, once a year

A cash box may be enough.

You need PayPal or Square payments

eventCNX works with Stripe only.

Questions

How is eventCNX different from Square?

Square is built for a shop counter: a team set up in Square and a reader or Tap to Pay. eventCNX is built for an event night: any volunteer’s own phone becomes a checkout with an event PIN, and pots, per-volunteer totals and the treasurer’s report come with it. If you already run on Square, it may be the simpler choice.

Can we still take cash?

Yes. Volunteers tap Paid in cash, and the sale counts toward your totals and pots with the card payments. Card and cash are shown apart, so the card total still matches Stripe.

Can we use eventCNX alongside Cheddar Up or Givebutter?

Yes. Keep collecting dues or running a donation page where you do now. eventCNX runs the tables on the night, and its sales go to your own Stripe account.

Can guests cover the card fee?

Not yet. Today your organization pays Stripe’s standard fee on each sale, and guests pay exactly the price you set.

Does eventCNX hold our money?

No. Every payment goes straight into your organization’s own Stripe account. Stripe pays it out to your bank on your usual schedule.

Do we need a Stripe account?

Yes, in your organization’s name. If you don’t have one, Stripe walks you through opening it when you connect.

Try it on a practice night first.

Connect Stripe, build the event and run a practice night with pretend payments. You only pay when you open it to guests.

Set up your event. Pay when you open it.
